PDTag.com getting even better

Although you can’t see this on the website, as not many new stories were added or users registered, but PDTag.com is becoming more an more popular. It’s about two months now, since I’ve launched PDTag.com, and without spending a penny on marketing we have not 100+ unique visitors a day! What does it mean to YOU? That you should start adding links to your blog posts and websites… sooner you do this, more chance you have to be noticed.

Seeing that this side-project acutally is going into good direction I’ve decided to spend some more (than half a day I’ve spent already) time on it. First let’s redesign. Choosing a bit more proffesional looking and more flexible to changes theme is the first step. Up to now, we’ve used ‘wistie’ which comes as a default theme. Polish version of PDTag.com, called KierunekSukces.pl is using customized ‘Fusion’ theme. Thought about applying it also here, but feel it a bit ‘bloggish’.

So yes, the final choice is Arthemia. And why am I saying final? Because I find Pligg itself not working as good as one would like. There are areas which I need to tweak, which means I’m cutting off from future releases of both Pligg and Arthemia theme. This will mostly include making PDTag.com more usable, more sociable and less vulnerable to spam. I’m sure this will make PDTag.com a better place to all of us. Stay tuned.

I turn on my machine and first thing I do (just after checking my email ;) ) is opening Del.icio.us sidebar in Firefox. I click on first blog I have bookmarked to see if there is any new content… nope, second link… nope… third link… yeap, there is something. I scan it and if it seams interesting start reading. Very often it happens that in the middle of reading post becomes not as exciting as it seamed to be… Del.icio.us sidebar… next…

Some would say, ok and what’s wrong with that? (more…)

And here is the PDtag blog. Why and what for? This is my first own online project (apart from the personal development blog I write in polish) and although I have quite strong web development experience, my web marketing skills are close to none. I have never been responsible for promoting a website, increasing traffic, managing ads and what most important making money out of it. Yes I do plan to learn all of this and a bit more with PDtag.com. This blog will be the place where I share what I’ve learnt… and also a place where I hope to get your feedback.

I’d love to hear from you. Is the “social bookmarking” website something we need? A place where you can share valuable personal development findings, promote your blogs, recommend (e)books (see the Affiliat Marketing here?) and what most important filter what’s worth attention from what’s not, via Voting.

It’s very early stage now, and traffic is not so high, so each of your comments is quad-important to me… even if it’s a one line.
